Ahrntal valley and Kronplatz – pure natural bliss

A summer holiday in the South Tyrolean mountains

Plug into nature and recharge taking long walks, hikes and bike tours in the gorgeous landscapes of the Tauferer Ahrntal valley and the Kronplatz outdoor paradise – one of the most scenic areas the Italian Alps have to offer. Here around Aparthotel Zum Schlössl, summer options range from family-friendly jaunts to mountaineering feats and cultural highlights. We promise: it’s going to be a fantastic holiday!

A spectacular mountainscape

Majestic peaks as far as the eye can see! The Ahrntal valley is surrounded by over 80 peaks above 3,000 metres, as well as idyllic pastures and thick forests, roaring waterfalls and crystal-clear Alpine lakes. And from Mt. Kronplatz, the view of the Dolomites is simply mesmerising. Can you imagine a better setting for your summer adventures?

A tailored experience

Leisurely pasture hikes, family-friendly walks or thrilling summit climbs? There are many different ways to experience the mountains. The Ahrntal valley and the Kronplatz area offer something for everyone, with a variety of different options at different altitudes. If you don’t fancy a long trek uphill, you can always take the cable car up Mt. Kronplatz, Mt. Klausberg or Mt. Speikboden, and enjoy the multitude of walking paths that start from the mountain terminal.

Quality time with the family

“What are we going to do, today?” One simple question, so many possible answers! The Klausberg Family Park with its water park, Dinoland and the Kristallalm Fun Area, perhaps? Or maybe a thrilling ride on the zip line, or a climbing afternoon at the Enzwaldile high ropes park? The petting zoo and the Speikboden Family Park with its hay-diving feature are also worth a visit… And if the day turns out to be a scorcher, a dip in the natural pond in Gais or in the Thara lake in Kematen will ensure fun and refreshment for the whole family.
